Here we are back at the start of the IT conference season. I wrote recently on my blog Transformational Technologist about how excited I am for this year’s big virtual conferences.
One of the conferences I never miss (virtual or not) is Dell Technologies World, which is coming up next week from May 5-6. As president of the VMware User Group (VMUG), I’m also an active Dell Technologies customer, as we leverage a wide array of Dell Technologies solutions to stay competitive. So, I get excited for the conference each year where I can discover new innovations, connect with other leaders in the industry and enjoy engaging, deep-dive sessions that keep me up to date with everything I need to know for emerging tech in the marketplace.
I keep coming back to Dell Technologies World year after year for the content, but I stay to network and connect with VMUG members and meet other IT leaders. I highly encourage you to look at the agenda ahead of time to plan out how you’ll spend your time during the two-day event. There are tons of sessions for all kinds of IT pros, and you don’t want to accidentally miss out on any of it.
One perk of virtual conferences that I use all the time is that we’ll have on-demand access to certain sessions and keynotes after the event, so you won’t have to miss any of the sessions you want to see, even if they’re at the same time.
Sessions I’ve put on my personal agenda are:
- Michael Dell’s opening keynote, “Moving Forward—Together”
- A Work and Learn From Anywhere session, Empowering Innovative Work From Anywhere, Anytime
- Modernize Security for IT Resilience session, Improving Cyber Agility: Utilize an AI-driven, Zero-trust Approach
I’m also looking forward to meeting other VMUG members in the Connect area during the event! Sure, in the virtual event space you can’t just walk up to other attendees and strike up a conversation. But in some ways, it can be easier to connect virtually. Features like “Search” allow you to find and create a list of other attendees you’d like to further relationships with, in advance. It isn't exactly like finding them in the hallway, but I’ve been able to connect with more people because of the efficiency.
There will be so many exciting moments during the two-day conference and you really won’t want to miss a moment of it. From taking advantage of all the sessions, connecting with people, and enjoying the entertainment, you will leave Dell Technologies World ready to tackle the next thing in IT.
